Assistant PrincipalGlassboro High School is seeking a 10.5-month Assistant Principal.
Job DescriptionAs a staff member of the school management team under the direct supervision of the Principal, the Assistant Principal will be involved in supervising and evaluating staff; administering the school's attendance and discipline program, managing pupil progress reports and records; developing curriculum and professional development, and overseeing the daily operation of the school, including overseeing night events.
Qualifications- Hold a New Jersey Principal Certificate
The Assistant Principal's authority and responsibility extend to all teachers and pupils in the areas of instruction, scheduling, attendance, discipline, extracurricular activities, substitute teachers, pupil progress recording, and any other areas assigned by the principal.
Responsibilities- Work closely with the Principal to establish a positive, achievement-oriented, and character-driven school culture;
- Work with the principal to implement the school code of conduct, attendance regulations, and building security;
- Assume all duties of the Principal in his or her absence and all other duties as delegated from time to time by the Principal.
- Assist the Principal and staff in developing school goals.
- Work with the Principal and staff in continued curriculum development.
- Work with the Principal and staff to select and develop curricular materials and activities to implement the educational program.
Assisting the Principal in organizing and staffing the building to carry out assigned responsibilities and programs. Assisting the Principal in the organization and operation of teacher in-service programs.
RelationshipsPrincipal - The Assistant Principal is under the supervision of and accountable to the Principal.
Others - The Assistant Principal shall cooperate with other staff administrators in the proper performance of their assignments.
Teachers - The Assistant Principal shall have authority over the teachers in the areas of his/her assigned responsibilities.
Terms of EmploymentThis is a ten and a half (10.5) month position with salary and contract terms to be negotiated with the Superintendent and the Board of Education.
EvaluationPerformance in this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board’s policy on the evaluation of personnel.
