Glassboro Public Schools is seeking qualified candidates for the Preschool Classroom Aide position for the 2026‑2027 school year. The role involves assisting classroom teachers with instructional and housekeeping tasks, supporting students, and completing clerical duties as directed.
Qualifications- High School diploma.
- Basic clerical skills and knowledge of automated office equipment and computer operations.
- Strong organizational skills and evidence of good moral character (verified by reference checks, fingerprint review, and observations).
- Must meet Title I requirements for No Child Left Behind paraprofessionals if the position is funded by Title I or Title I blended funds.
Assigned classroom teacher and building principal.
Job Goal / Major Functions- Prepare instructional materials according to the teacher’s direction, including charts and classroom decorations.
- Assist in classroom routines and housekeeping, such as distributing materials, managing classroom equipment, collecting homework, class work, and tests.
- Perform clerical duties for the assigned teacher’s students: attendance recording, inventory preparation, duplication of materials, and filing.
- Work with students to review concepts, assist with projects, correct work, maintain discipline, acclimate new students, handle routine phone calls, and support field trips.
- Monitor students during non‑instructional time per IEP or Section 504 plans.
This is a ten (10) month position with salary and contract terms negotiated with the Superintendent and the Board of Education.
EvaluationPerformance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board’s policy on personnel evaluation.
