PositionSummary
The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering invites applications for adjunct faculty positions in a number of courses both at the undergraduate and graduate level. We seek energetic and innovative teacher-scholars committed to excellence in engineering education.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in civil and environmental engineering, including Statics, Solid Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Water Resources Engineering, Surveying, Surface Hydrology, Watershed Principles, Water and Wastewater Treatment and Design, and Senior Capstone Design.
- Teach senior/graduate electives in core areas of structural, water resources, geotechnical, and transportation engineering.
- Contribute to project-based learning environments and collaborate with multidisciplinary student and faculty teams.
- Earned at least a Master of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering;
PhD preferred. - Professional licensure required to teach upper-level design courses.
- Strong communication skills and ability to teach in a project-based setting.
Part-time, non-tenure-track position with renewable contracts based on performance, departmental needs, and university approval. Maximum teaching load is 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year.

CompensationAdjuncts are paid a minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught, per the State of New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act.
