Tenure-Track or Tenured Faculty Position in Biomedical Ethics
Department of Philosophy & World Religions, Ric Edelman College of Communication, Humanities & Social Sciences, Rowan University.
Appointment10‑month, full‑time, tenure‑track or tenured faculty member. Appointment to begin September 1, 2026. Positions at Assistant, Associate or Full Professor levels.
Research FocusDevelop a research program in Biomedical Ethics and contribute to a research cluster in the medical and health humanities within the Ric Edelman College of Communication, Humanities & Social Sciences.
Qualifications- Ph.D. in Philosophy or a related field.
- Track record or potential to establish and sustain a strong research program in biomedical ethics.
- Evidence of teaching excellence and commitment to inclusive teaching and mentoring practices.
- Experience securing competitive public grant and private foundation funding.
- Engagement in service at the departmental, college, or university level.
- Develop courses and interdisciplinary programs in biomedical ethics or related areas such as ethics of technology, philosophy of medicine and science, disability ethics, and reproductive ethics.
- Coordinate events on these topics, including research talks, public lectures, conferences, and student‑focused programming.
- Recruit students and support growth of department majors, minors, and certificate programs.
- Secure extramural funding to support research, programming, and interdisciplinary initiatives.
- Engage in service endeavors in the department, college, and university.
Annual base salary ranges (AFT):
- Assistant Professor: $22 – 25 k
- Associate Professor: $26 – 29 k
- Full Professor: $30 – 33 k
