Position Summary: The Rohrer College of Business invites applications for a non‑tenure track faculty position with an emphasis on Financial Planning. The role is teaching‑focused, delivering high‑quality instruction in undergraduate and/or graduate financial planning courses and translating industry practices into an engaging academic environment. This position is part of a newly created School of Financial Planning supported by Edelman Financial Engines, offering an opportunity to develop innovative curriculum and programming.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Teach up to 12 credit hours per semester in financial planning and related finance topics (e.g., investments, personal financial planning, retirement, estate, and tax planning, risk management).
Teach 24 credits over two semesters, with optional overload and summer courses for additional compensation. - Develop and deliver course materials aligned with program learning objectives and industry standards.
Incorporate applied, experiential learning techniques to enhance student engagement. - Maintain regular office hours and provide timely feedback and academic support to students.
- Participate in curriculum development and continuous program improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with developments in financial planning practice, regulation, and education.
- Engage in service activities that support the department, college, and university as appropriate for a teaching‑focused appointment.
- Experience as a financial advisor or in a closely related role.
- Professional certification in financial planning.
- Prior teaching experience at the college or university level in financial planning or related topics.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and commitment to student‑centered learning.
Assistant or Associate non‑tenure track Teaching Professors for this position are expected to hold a terminal degree or its professional equivalent. The appointments are 10‑month or 12‑month, full‑time, non‑tenure track. Positions are renewable based on performance reviews and programmatic needs.

SalaryAnnual base salary ranges (in thousands) are:
Assistant Teaching Professor: 21 – 24
Associate Teaching Professor: 25 – 27
Placement within the range is determined by qualifications, experience, internal equity, and other factors.
