Position: Adjunct Faculty, Early Childhood Education Clinical Field Supervisors - Department of Early

Adjunct Faculty - Early Childhood Education Clinical Field Supervisors

This is a part‑time, per‑credit appointment in the College of Education. The faculty member will supervise teacher candidates in the Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education programs, observe and provide mentoring and feedback, and participate in service initiatives at the program, department, college, and university level.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field from an accredited institution at time of appointment.
  • Daytime, in‑person availability to visit schools; online positions will not be considered.
  • Occasional evening meetings with students for pre/post‑observation conferencing.
  • Conduct two observations for candidates in two‑day placements and five observations for candidates in five‑day placements.
  • Available to visit all schools in a defined geographic area of interest.
  • Minimum of 5 years successful teaching in P‑12 settings.
  • Meet state licensure requirements for teachers, P3 or K‑6.
  • Eager and proactive in building positive relationships with candidates and cooperative teachers, scheduling meetings and proactive communication.
  • Demonstrated ability in communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering academic achievement, social and personal responsibility, and social justice.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working in an environment devoted to collaboration, collegiality, professional development, diversity, scholarly inquiry, student learning, civic responsibility, and respect for all people.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with P‑12 schools.
  • A teaching/learning philosophy consistent with the mission of the College of Education.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship not available.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the Danielson Framework.
  • Experience with performance assessment measures.
  • Experience with online portfolio systems.
  • Training in coaching and mentoring teachers.
  • Ability to supervise in Atlantic, Cumberland, Mercer, Ocean, and Salem counties (other counties also welcome).

September 1, 2026

Compensation

Adjuncts are provided with a minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year.
