Adjunct Faculty - First- Writing, Department of Writing Arts

Position

The Department of Writing Arts seeks qualified adjuncts to teach courses in first-year writing and possibly courses in technical and professional writing.

Teach courses in first-year writing and possibly courses in technical and professional writing.

• A master’s degree is required in the field of Composition/Rhetoric or a related field, such as English, Creative Writing, Literacy Studies, or Urban Education.
• Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience teaching college writing or professional writing, favorable recommendations from references, and favorable previous student evaluations.
• Language fluency (oral) in Spanish and experience working with developmental writers are particularly desired.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. The University will not sponsor a visa for this position.

In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, and in accordance with the current MOA, Rowan University adjuncts are provided with a minimum of $2,100 per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year. Courses will be assigned to instructors by College & Department on an as‑needed basis.
