The American Studies program seeks adjunct faculty to teach Introduction to American Studies and other courses as needed. Courses include Interdisciplinary Research and Writing, American Studies in the Classroom, and Senior Seminar. The role introduces students to the interdisciplinary practice of American Studies, emphasizing the application of American cultural studies to future careers.

• Teach assigned courses, ensuring high-quality instruction and assessment.
• Develop course materials, syllabi, and assignments in alignment with program objectives.
• Engage students in active learning and provide constructive feedback.
• Attend faculty meetings and participate in department activities as required.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and course evaluations.

• Completion of an appropriate graduate degree in American Studies or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience teaching American Studies or an interdisciplinary program.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with faculty.
• Eligibility to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).

Under The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, adjuncts receive a minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits per academic year.
