The Department of English at Rowan University seeks to create a pool of adjunct faculty qualified to teach general‑education and English major courses in U.S., British, and Global Anglophone literature. Occasionally teaching openings are available in Children’s Literature, Young Adult literature, American English Grammar, and other specialized major courses. Adjunct faculty may teach up to two courses per semester, depending on scheduling needs.

Qualifications: M.A. or Ph.D. in English or a related discipline; college‑level teaching experience preferred.

Note: Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. The University will not sponsor a visa for this position.

Pay & Teaching Load: Adjuncts receive a minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year. Courses will be assigned to instructors by College & Department on an as‑needed basis.
