Position Summary:
The Rohrer College of Business at Rowan University invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position with an emphasis on Financial Planning. This is a teaching-focused role responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in undergraduate and/or graduate financial planning courses. A strong candidate will bring relevant industry experience, a commitment to student success, and the ability to translate real-world financial planning practices into an engaging academic environment.
Rowan University recently announced the creation of a School of Financial Planning powered by the support of Edelman Financial Engines. This is a unique opportunity to help build innovative curriculum and programming with the aim of becoming a nationally recognized hub for financial planning education.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach up to 12 credit hours per semester in financial planning and related finance topics (e.g., investments, personal financial planning, retirement, estate, and tax planning, risk management).
- Develop and deliver course materials aligned with program learning objectives and industry standards.
- Incorporate applied, experiential learning techniques to enhance student engagement.
- Maintain regular office hours. Provide timely feedback and academic support to students.
- Participate in curriculum development and continuous program improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with developments in financial planning practice, regulation, and education.
- Engage in service activities that support the department, college, and university as appropriate for a teaching-focused appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a financial advisor or in a closely related role.
- Professional certification in financial planning.
- Prior teaching experience at the college or university level in financial planning or related topics.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and commitment to student-centered learning.
Assistant or Associate non-tenure track Teaching Professors for this position are expected to hold a terminal degree or its professional equivalent. The teaching positions are 10-month or 12-month, depending upon responsibilities, full-time, non-tenure track appointments. Successful candidates…
