Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Statistics and Data Science

The Department of Mathematics at Rowan University is seeking to hire a 10-month Tenure-Track Faculty Position with an appointment to begin on September 1st, 2027.

The Department of Mathematics is specifically interested in candidates who will develop a research program in statistics and data science applied to health and life sciences, including biostatistics, epidemiology, statistical genomics, bioinformatics, computational biology, health informatics, and AI methods applied to biomedical data. The successful candidate's research program must have a clearly defined application domain in the health and life sciences.

A Ph.D. or equivalent in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, or a related field is required; postdoctoral experience is expected. Preference will be given to candidates with a track record and/or potential to establish and sustain a strong research program with health-related applications. We anticipate hiring at the Assistant Professor level, but outstanding candidates may be considered at the Associate or Full Professor levels.

The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain an active, highly visible, extramurally funded research program with outstanding scholarship, teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and contribute to the various service endeavors in the Department, College, and University. Opportunities for research collaboration exist within the Department, as well as with Rowan’s two medical schools — the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) and the Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine (SOM) — and with the Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine, the first veterinary school in New Jersey, as well as Rowan’s health-related research centers and clinical partners.
