Controller, Accounting, Financial Reporting

We are seeking an accomplished Controller to join a well-established nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health and well-being. This is a highly visible position offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and the Board while overseeing the organization's accounting and financial functions.

• Direct and oversee the organization's accounting and financial reporting functions.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and review accurate financial statements and management reports.
• Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and reconciliations.
• Lead the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors.
• Develop and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
• Provide financial analysis and insight to senior leadership to support organizational decision-making.
• Prepare financial reports and presentations for the Board and leadership team.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and nonprofit reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, and reporting.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to accounting staff.
• Participate in strategic initiatives and special projects across the organization.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
• Prior Controller or senior-level accounting experience preferred.
• Nonprofit accounting experience is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with executives and Board members.
• Ability to balance hands-on accounting responsibilities with strategic financial oversight.
• CPA designation or CPA-track experience is a plus.
