NOTICE OF VACANCY

POSITION:

Para educator, Special Education

Part-Time (Union Position)

Naubuc Elementary School

* The location of your assignment is subject to change based on student needs in the district.

WAGES:

$19.75 per hour

SCHEDULE:

10-month position, 18 hours per week

DUTIES:

Responsible for the support of students receiving special education services in a variety of settings. Duties may include supporting students with academic work and attention to task; implementing behavior intervention plans; facilitating social interaction with peers.

Assists students in self-care areas as needed, including but not limited to personal hygiene, toileting, feeding, dressing, mobility and lifting. Performs related duties as required or as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to relate well to students with disabilities, to follow a schedule with flexibility to changes. Must be able to assist students in self-care areas which may include lifting. Good communication skills are required. Previous experience working with students with a variety of disabilities preferred, including but not limited to students with autism.
