Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Glastonbury, CT, for an Engineering Manager. As an Engineering Manager, responsibilities include leading include managing a team of skilled engineers, ensuring the team and its processes are equipped for growth. You will coach, provide oversight and occasionally play a hands-on role in manufacturing processes responsible for the production of Aerospace quality products (tooling, ground and test support equipment) in a high mix / low volume production environment.
Work product will include the development of mechanical and electrical design solutions (new and modified) for structures, pneumatics, hydraulics, tooling and fixtures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Engineering Management and Team Leadership.
- Proficiency in developing strategies for technical and operational excellence.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Manufacturing & Electrical Engineering technical standards, principles, theories, and techniques
- Knowledge of drafting standards (Y14.5M-1994, Y14.38M, Y14.100M) and applicable ASTM standards
- Knowledge of process control & measurement instrumentation (pressure, temperature, level, flow, force and torque)
- Proficient in Solid Works with experience creating solid models and sheet metal flat patterns from customer supplied 2D design packages. 3D modeling simulation a plus
- Working knowledge of GD&T
- Strong computer proficiency (Office 365) in addition to ERP systems background (Epicor / Kinetic a plus)
- Experience with AS9100, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement technical a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Experience in the aerospace or defense industry is a plus.
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
