Job Title:
Electrical Designer (HVAC & Lighting Focus)

Key Responsibilities
- Develop electrical designs and construction documents for HVAC systems, including power distribution for equipment such as air handlers, chillers, boilers, VAV systems, and control panels
- Design and layout indoor and outdoor lighting systems, including fixture selection, controls, and energy-efficient solutions
- Prepare detailed drawings including single-line diagrams, panel schedules, lighting layouts, control schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Perform electrical calculations such as load analysis, lighting photometrics, voltage drop, and circuit sizing
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers to ensure proper integration of HVAC equipment power and control requirements
- Ensure designs comply with NEC, IECC energy codes, ASHRAE standards, and local Connecticut regulations
- Assist in selecting lighting fixtures and control systems to meet energy efficiency and client design goals
- Support commissioning activities for HVAC and lighting systems, including troubleshooting and field adjustments
- Conduct site visits for field verification, data collection, and coordination with contractors
- Revise drawings and documentation based on project updates and client feedback
Education:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field
- 2 5+ years of electrical design experience, with exposure to BMS and PLC (Honeywell), and Low-Voltage Control Wiring (Lutron)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience with Honeywell and Lutron
- Strong understanding of HVAC electrical requirements and motor control systems
- Knowledge of lighting controls (occupancy sensors, daylight harvesting, smart lighting systems)
- Familiarity with NEC, ASHRAE, and energy efficiency standards (IECC)
