We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Senior Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
The role is responsible for managing multidisciplinary teams, maintaining client relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering projects on schedule and within budget. The successful candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer with strong project management skills and a proven track record in municipal infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end project delivery for municipal water and wastewater projects, including planning, design, permitting, construction administration, and closeout.
- Manage project scope, schedule, and budget; develop and monitor project schedules, cost estimates, and forecasts to ensure timely, on-budget delivery.
- Serve as primary client contact and develop strong client relationships; lead project meetings, stakeholder engagement, and public presentations as required.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of engineers, designers, contractors, and subconsultants to ensure technical quality and consistency.
- Oversee preparation and review of design plans, specifications, technical reports, and permit applications; ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and local regulations.
- Administer contracts, change orders, and claims; manage risk and resolve project issues to maintain project performance.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff; foster professional development, conduct performance reviews, and support knowledge transfer.
- Implement quality control and quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of deliverables.
- Support business development activities including proposal preparation, scope development, and client pursuit as needed.
- Utilize or oversee engineering software and drafting tools (AutoCAD/Civil 3D) to review design deliverables and coordinate design changes.
- Prepare regular project reports, financial updates, and executive summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the applicable state(s) required.
- Minimum of 8-12 years of progressive experience in civil engineering with a strong emphasis on municipal water and wastewater projects.
- Demonstrated project management experience delivering complex infrastructure projects, including proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of municipal permitting, environmental regulations, design standards, and construction administration practices.
- Proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office suite; experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication, and client-relations skills with experience mentoring and developing staff.
- Experience with budget management, contract administration, and financial forecasting.
- Business development experience and the ability to contribute to proposal writing and client pursuits is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
