Consulting Director – Commercial Pricing

At CNA you have a clear vision of where your career can go. Commercial Pricing has an opening for a Consulting Director on the Large Casualty Pricing team. This is a senior level individual contributor responsible for performing analyses on loss‑rated and loss‑sensitive casualty business across Commercial, including workers compensation, general liability, and commercial auto.

Responsibilities
  • Provide actuarial guidance and business insights related to Large Casualty business.
  • Build strong relationships with peers, business partners, and leaders across multiple functions to influence pricing strategy through actionable insights and analytics.
  • Work with senior management to develop and implement pricing strategies for Large Casualty.
  • Drive innovation in products through thought leadership.
  • Monitor profitability and trends for Large Casualty and share results with recommendations.
  • Participate with senior leadership in the development and implementation of actuarial policies, business strategies, and goals, regularly evaluating performance against goals, and holding self‑accountable for achieving desired results.
  • Stay up to date in actuarial expertise and industry trends to guide decisions related to line of business.
  • Produce highly technical actuarial analyses and reports, delivering findings presentations to senior management.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of related work experience, typically a minimum of ten years.
  • Fellowship accreditation (FCAS) is preferred.
  • Proven ability to influence business partners at various levels.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem‑solving skills with the ability to effectively resolve complex situations.
  • Experience exercising professional judgement and assuming responsibility for decisions with impact on business and quality of service.
  • Solid project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and lead teams.
  • Creative and effective change management with the ability to manage through ambiguous and challenging problems, leading through change.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
Compensation and Benefits

Base pay range for this role in Illinois, New York, California is $155,000 to $220,500, with national base pay range $97,000 to $189,000 annually, depending on experience and location.
