What's In Store For You:- Engagement: W2 only (no C2C/1099)
- Contract-to-hire opportunity intended to convert into a permanent position.
- Hybrid work environment with required onsite participation in the Richmond, Virginia area.
- Exposure to multiple investment accounting processes and asset classes.
- Opportunity to support several accounting leaders and expand into broader responsibilities.
- Involvement in process improvement, reporting automation, controls, and accounting workflow enhancements.
- Perform manual journal entries, account reconciliations, close activities, and financial reporting support.
- Assist with accounting for alternative investments and other complex investment assets.
- Review accounting outputs, investigate discrepancies, and troubleshoot complex Excel working files.
- Support internal controls, audit requests, documentation, and ongoing process validation.
- Work across several accounting areas and adjust quickly as manager and business priorities change.
- Research accounting issues and help identify gaps or efficiencies within current processes.
- Partner with Finance, Investments, auditors, and other stakeholders to deliver timely and accurate results.
- Contribute to workflow improvement and automation initiatives using reporting or process tools when applicable.
- Bachelor s degree in accounting, finance, or a related business discipline.
- Two to five years of progressive accounting experience, ideally at the senior accountant level.
- Strong experience with manual journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, controls, and audit support.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to troubleshoot formulas, macros, and complex working files.
- Ability to manage changing priorities and support multiple managers or work streams.
- Strong documentation, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in financial services, insurance, public accounting, investments, or another complex accounting environment is preferred.
- Exposure to alternative investments, private equity, limited partnerships, commercial mortgage loans, middle-market loans, or CECL is highly desirable.
- Experience with Alteryx, Power BI, Power Automate, macros, or accounting workflow automation is a plus.
- CPA, CPA eligibility, or interest in pursuing certification is preferred.
- Must be interested in permanent conversion and comfortable with required onsite participation.
