Opportunity
RS&H is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our Transportation Practice in Glen Allen, VA. This is an on‑site role at our Metro Richmond office. We welcome both part‑time and full‑time candidates.
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
- Preparing or editing business documents with an attention to detail
- Interfacing with RS&H support groups in legal, human resources, information technology, and business development
- Supporting activities of Virginia operations and serving as a point of contact and resource for visitors
- Planning and coordinating management meetings and/or college recruiting events
- Performing transactional business activities
- Supporting monthly invoicing activities
- Assisting engineering staff and Project Managers
- Other office administrative assignments
Excellent organizational skills in a dynamic environment and a negotiable work schedule are encouraged.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Advanced knowledge of administrative duties and Microsoft Office
- Strong oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and strong organization and prioritization
- Advanced–to‑proficient skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe software
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple assignments simultaneously
- Inherent ability to work as part of a team and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders
- Five or more years of business support experience in the engineering consulting industry, focusing on civil engineering/transportation
- Three or more years of experience performing transactional business activities
- Three or more years of experience in professional writing, technical writing, editing, and/or business development writing
- Experience serving public sector clients/owners with procurement, reporting, document control, contract management, invoice preparation, and business development processes
- Working knowledge of enterprise accounting or resource planning solutions for A/E firms
- A valid Virginia driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within one month of hire is required
- Driver’s license records check, criminal history records check, and fingerprint check are required
- Successful candidates may be required to travel for meetings with clients and RS&H associates as needed
The anticipated salary range for this position is $21.10 – $31.65 per hour. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications, experience, internal equity, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
