Description
Atlantic Union's Summer Internship program is a professional development opportunity for local students to gain practical work experience, helping students become better prepared to enter into the financial industry post-graduation. Students have the ability to build professional networks, and receive training and mentoring throughout the program.
Atlantic Union's Bank Operations Intern Program is designed to give college students an introduction into internal auditing. It is our intent to give the Intern real assignments. Assignments that stretch the Intern, provide the Intern with valuable experience, and allow the Intern to contribute to the Payment Operations Department.
Position Accountabilities
The Intern is provided with assignments related to Loan Collateral Management. The intern will also get the opportunity to:
- Shadow daily Loan Collateral activities.
- Shadow and perform project tracking and updates.
- Shadow and perform scheduling of key meetings pertaining to project assignments.
- Assist in remediation efforts related to Loan Collateral Management.
Organizational Relationship
This position reports to the Manager of Collateral Management primarily and has a hybrid residency.
Position Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Position Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years' old
- Currently working on degree in [Financial or Business Management] preferred
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university is required, and Students must be undergraduates entering their junior or senior year or currently pursuing a graduate level degree
- Must be available to work a 40-hour week, Monday through Friday
- Must submit a resume and cover letter highlighting accomplishments, professional and academic goals, and expectations of this internship position
- Submission of transcripts and two professional or academic references

- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organization skills
- Must be able to function well with indirect supervision
