Key responsibilities include:

Preparing Cost Estimates, Learning Computer and Prepackaged Software, Reading Bid Documents, Technical Writing, Ability to Interpret Technical Drawings and Specifications, Familiarity with Budget and Financial Forecasting, Risk Analysis and Contingency Planning

• 5+ years of directly related experience in the estimating field including but not limited to financial estimation, construction and/or engineering.
• Ability to perform in a high pace, multi-task environment and to independently plan and organize work schedule.
• Communication and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with project teams, customers, other utilities, and government agencies.
• Must be able to review and understand scopes. Strong computer skills and application of pre-packaged software programs.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Must understand the project life cycle and cost that come from project supporting activities.
• Requires deep knowledge of general industry news and trends, general industry and construction costs and inflation rates.
• Must be highly motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and have effective communication skills.
• Strong background in vendor management and stakeholder coordination.
• Strong leadership in directing scoping teams, managing contractors, and coordinating internal departments.
• Strong understanding of project scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
