Experienced Engineering Technician

Job Description

We are looking for an Experienced Engineering Technician to join our Richmond, VA office. The role involves field observation and testing of construction materials and soil and concrete laboratory testing.

• Field observation and testing during placement of construction materials including soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and sprayed‑on fireproofing.
• Soil and concrete laboratory testing.

• High school degree.
• Valid driver's license.
• 4+ years of construction experience; technical post‑high‑school education such as a degree in engineering or geology may be accepted as a substitute.
• Good oral, written, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform rudimentary math calculations.
• Attention to detail.
• Interest in working outdoors on construction sites.
• Physical capability to lift 60 pounds and navigate construction sites, including climbing ladders and working in varied weather conditions per OSHA standards.

• Pass a background check that may include criminal history, motor vehicle record, and credit check.
• Pass a pre‑employment screening.

Hourly rate ranges from $20 to $30, adjusted for geographic location and other factors.
