Job Description
Objectives: To warmly greet the current and potential member and contribute assistance by answering questions, providing them with necessary information and ensuring them a pleasant visit.
Reports to: Front Desk Manager or Assistant Front Desk Manager and/or Manager on Duty when Front Desk manager is unavailable.
Duties and Responsibilities- Arrive five to ten minutes early to check daily communication log updates.
- Audit cash drawer when assuming control of the department in the presence of a manager.
- Dress in appropriate attire to include nametag and any promotional buttons for new activities being sponsored by AFF.
- Clock in under your employee number.
- Smile and greet members and guests by name upon entering the club in a pleasant and cordial manner.
- All staff on the clock must stay at the member services desk and towards the front of the desk at all times unless clocked on break or (with permission) assisting members in the Cafe.
- Understand and implement the guest policy.
- Monitor member check in by checking their membership card and valid photo .
- Understand and administer the UPS system for the Membership Directors; when assigned to the POS position.
- Efficiently answer the phone within three rings and direct all incoming calls appropriately and take detailed messages.
- Properly take phone messages. Make sure to always include name and phone number and nature of call. Initial all messages to ensure accountability.
- When members come in for the above stated classes, ensure that each individual's hand is stamped and their check-in time is recorded on the sign-up sheet.
- Attend mandatory monthly meetings.
- Collect member payments when assigned to the POS position. Make sure that copies of the receipt are retained in the drawer for Credit Card and E-Credit Card transactions.
- Open and Close the club according to the opening and closing checklist.
- Inform all members of upcoming activities, promotions, and policy changes.
- Maintain a clean and attractive member services desk area. To include wiping down of desktops, vacuuming carpets, and cleaning glass doors when housekeeping staff are not available.
- Complete all listed assignments identified on the shift assignment page.
- Full time employees must work a minimum of 35 hours per week and part time employees are to work a minimum of 15 hours per week to include a mix of hours during the week as well as the weekend.
- If club traffic is slow, additional unnecessary staff may be required to clock out of their scheduled shift early.
- All other duties as assigned.
