Scope of Position
As a Controls Engineer, you will be crucial to ALC’s business by designing advanced building automation systems specifically tailored to each customer. We are looking for someone who works well in a team and possesses excellent problem‑solving, time‑management, and multi‑tasking skills.
What You’ll Do- Plan, prioritize, and manage multiple engineering projects with minimal direction, ensuring effective resource use and meeting deadlines.
- Lead large‑scale, complex engineering projects from start to finish, keeping them on time and within budget.
- Manage major responsibilities across multiple engineering disciplines regularly.
- Design and program building automation systems, including site‑specific configuration of control systems and control algorithms.
- Adhere to project requirements and maintain company and customer standards of design, programming, and implementation.
- Create clear design documents containing technical information for project teams.
- Document and communicate building automation system design changes.
- Develop graphical and text‑based interfaces for building automation systems.
- Test programming and interfaces before implementation.
- Provide technical support to sales representatives to ensure customers’ needs are met.
- Identify and communicate project opportunities and risks.
- Support functional testing for building systems.
- Make job‑site visits as necessary to aid in project support.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of overall HVAC controls experience (excluding end‑user‑only experience).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, ideally with a concentration in HVAC&R.
- Proficiency with advanced building automation software such as WebCTRL and installation of building automation controls.
- Expertise with TCP/IP networks, including wireless technology.
- Experience handling multiple simultaneous challenges across multiple disciplines.
- Ability to communicate technical information to a non‑technical audience.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
The annual salary for this position is between $64,500.00 and $. Factors that may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
