Job Description
- Plan and design portions of projects of greater complexity, following appropriate design, engineering codes, government and third‑party standards using engineering principles in conjunction and in concert with design staff.
- Analyze, develop and interpret reports, drawings, analytical data, and other data required for planning and design projects related to Wastewater Treatment.
- Review and determine regulatory requirements (local, state, federal) that would be applicable to the assignment.
- Prepare and at times present reports or analysis such as design calculations, field data results/conclusions and/or cost estimates. Presentation audiences may include internal team members and external clients.
- May communicate directly with external stakeholders (e.g., vendors, subcontractors, contractors, regulators, etc.).
- Support preparation of proposals and fee estimates.
- Train and mentor early‑career employees.
- Utilize an advanced understanding of engineering fundamentals and proficiency with relevant computer software packages and engineering and design techniques specific to Wastewater Treatment and hydraulic engineering.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Work effectively in teams comprised of professionals with diverse skill sets, including engineers from other disciplines, scientists and subcontracted professionals.
- Desire to promote Ramboll's growth through a commitment to delivering high‑quality work products to our clients.
- Troubleshooting and proactive problem solving for field assignments in accordance with project control documents and field guidance documents.
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering with 10+ years of qualifying engineering experience in the Wastewater Treatment engineering/design field.
Experience with BNR and ENR processes on municipal wastewater projects, particularly as it relates to the Chesapeake Bay Watershed or similar program.
Professional Engineering certification or the ability to obtain licensure within your primary state of residence/operation, relevant to job function.
Travel may be required depending on project requirements.
Salary TransparencyThe anticipated base salary range for this position is $115,000 to $140,000 per year. The range reflects the compensation reasonably expected to be offered at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Because we operate across multiple U.S. markets, pay may differ depending on the cost of labor in specific locations.
In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime or other forms of compensation and we offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports well‑being, professional development and work‑life balance.
