Job Summary

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and customer‑focused Seasonal Personal Tax Preparer to assist clients during the busy tax season.

Duties:

Client Intake & Financial Review

• Meet with clients to collect income documents such as W‑2s, 1099s, receipts, and expense records.

Tax Return Preparation

• Prepare accurate federal, state, and local individual tax returns using approved tax software.
• Calculate taxable income, credits, refunds, and tax liabilities in accordance with current tax laws.

Compliance & Filing

• Ensure all tax filings meet federal, state, and local regulations and adhere to up‑to‑date tax code requirements.
• Submit returns electronically or by mail and verify timely delivery.

Client Communication & Support

• Explain tax calculations, outcomes, deductions, and refund estimates in clear, simple language.
• Advise clients on potential tax liabilities and future tax planning opportunities.
• Assist with IRS or state tax notices if needed.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in personal tax preparation preferred.
• Familiarity with tax software (Drake Software is a plus).
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
