Compensation Range: $110,000 - $125,000/yr.
As a Technical Analyst you will be responsible for using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and approaches to problems. You will work with the client to understand the business objectives and intent to define specific functional and non-functional requirements, use cases, and business processes.
To properly elicit requirements, clients and the team must speak a common language that often requires education of both the client and implementation team. The technical analyst is responsible for ensuring continued alignment to the business value chain throughout the project delivery. This will require an understanding of technical systems and business processes and how to bridge the gap between the two.
A senior technical analyst is also expected to be able to understand code and identify current state requirements and work with the customer and developers on potential solutions to identify gaps and issues. A senior technical analyst may also be responsible for mentoring and coaching Jr analyst team members through the project.
What You Will Work On
* Organize all business requests to better understand overall demand and enable better prioritization and strategic alignment.
* Provide stakeholder visibility to help stakeholders track, manage, and forecast incoming business requests.
* Support the optimization of the intake process by collecting, organizing, scoring, and prioritizing business requests based on value to the enterprise and alignment to project backlog and roadmap.
* Review new business requests and convey the vision and goals at the beginning of every Release and Sprint.
* Communicate goals and expectations to teams during Sprint Planning meetings.
* Build, edit and maintain the product backlog in Jira and reprioritize as necessary[RF3] .
* Contribute to release documentation, communications and technical release notes.
* Drafting User Stories and EPICs with accompanying technical details and specifications.
* Analysis of code for existing services to reverse engineer requirements to be validated with the business customers.
* Develop Data Models to support the description, analysis and visualization of business domains.
* Analyze business requirements to define technical specifications and collaborate with the Business Team to clarify and further elaborate requirements.
* Obtain approved requirements from the Product Owner and Business Analysts and collaborate with the technical team to provide level of detail needed for implementation.
* Review of proposed solution to be developed to ensure it implements the business requirements.
* Translate Technical Requirements into testable scenarios.
* Review defects to identify requirements defects and/or clarification needed to requirements.
What You Will Bring
* At least 6 years of experience supporting IT business systems in a consulting environment.
* Experience working with data intensive platforms and experience reading code to understand business logic
* Enjoy making sense of complex or ambiguous situations - you can take diverse opinions, competing priorities, and development of a consensus for a course of action
* Experience with facilitation and able to build consensus
* Enjoy taking complex technical issues and explaining them in a way a non-technical audience can understand
* Are an excellent communicator - across all mediums
* You are a problem-solver with solid critical thinking skills
* Experience working with a variety of stakeholders in a collaborative environment to support multiple lines of business.
* Knowledge of formal project methodologies: agile, waterfall, and/or hybrid methods
* Experience working as part of a software development team or scrum team
* Familiar with the software development lifecycle
* Experience using data analysis to inform recommendations and ensure successful outcomes
