Business System Analyst

Duration: 12+ month contract

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Capstone IT is helping our client find a Business Systems Analyst who will support and maintain enterprise business applications used across the organization. This role focuses on troubleshooting functional application issues, partnering with business users to understand system needs, documenting requirements, coordinating application enhancements, and ensuring business applications continue to meet operational needs. The ideal candidate has experience supporting enterprise applications in a large corporate environment, communicates well with both technical and non-technical users, and enjoys working as part of an onsite team.

• Provide functional support for enterprise business applications.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application and system issues.
• Partner with business users to understand business processes and system needs.
• Gather, document, and validate business requirements.
• Recommend and coordinate application enhancements and corrective modifications.
• Perform functional testing and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Document system processes, issues, and resolutions.
• Collaborate with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to implement solutions.
• Support ongoing application maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required

• 5+ years of Business Systems Analyst experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise business applications.
• Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
• Experience troubleshooting functional application issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative onsite environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting applications within the utilities, energy, or regulated industries.
• Experience with ticketing or IT service management systems.
• Experience participating in application upgrades, implementations, or User Acceptance Testing.

This Business Systems Analyst will support the enterprise applications that enable day-to-day business operations. The role serves as the connection between business users and technical teams by resolving application issues, gathering enhancement requests, and ensuring systems continue to meet business needs. Rather than developing software, the analyst focuses on maintaining application functionality, improving business processes, and supporting operational efficiency in an enterprise utility environment.
