Job SummaryDominion Energy's Electric Transmission Field Operations OT Cyber Monitoring Group is seeking a motivated candidate to join our team and support the development, administration, and continuous improvement of the Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control System (ICS) Cyber Monitoring Program. The successful candidate will support OT cybersecurity monitoring, threat detection, compliance initiatives, and cybersecurity technology implementations that strengthen Dominion Energy's cybersecurity posture and operational resilience.
Responsibilities- Contribute to the ongoing maturation of the OT Cyber Monitoring Program by identifying gaps, proposing enhancements, and driving long-term roadmap initiatives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and techniques to strengthen OT cybersecurity posture, threat detection capabilities, and operational efficiency.
- Support the administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of OT cyber monitoring platforms and associated cybersecurity technologies.
- Conduct system health monitoring, performance optimization, threat analysis, and lifecycle management of deployed cyber monitoring systems and assets.
- Assist with cybersecurity assessments, vulnerability identification, and remediation activities within OT and ICS environments.
- Serve as a technical liaison between Field Operations, Cybersecurity, Standards, Engineering, and Information Technology teams to ensure cohesive OT security strategies and regulatory compliance.
- Lead or support project planning for phased enhancements, upgrades, cybersecurity initiatives, and new feature deployments within the OT environment.
- Support the development, review, and maintenance of OT cybersecurity procedures, standards, and documentation.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- 5+ years of relevant experience and demonstrated competencies in applicable discipline.
- In-depth knowledge of OT/ICS cybersecurity principles, networking, system administration, and applicable technical practices.
- Ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills and modern tools of engineering, technology, networking, and cybersecurity to solve broadly-defined technical problems appropriate to the discipline.
- Ability to design, implement, or improve systems, components, and processes that meet specified operational and cybersecurity requirements appropriate to the discipline.
- Strong oral, written and graphical communication skills including technical writing; ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature.
- Ability to conduct cybersecurity assessments, testing activities, and technical evaluations within OT environments.
- Ability to analyze cybersecurity data, identify trends, and recommend improvements to strengthen security controls and operational effectiveness.
- Ability to function effectively independently and as a member of a technical team.
- Excellent organization and project management skills.
- Excellent personal computer skills including knowledge of applicable software programs.
- Experience administering and securing Linux systems.
- Experience utilizing OT/ICS monitoring strategies, threat detection methodologies, incident response processes, and risk mitigation techniques.
- Experience supporting Operational Technology (OT), Industrial Control Systems (ICS), SCADA environments, or critical infrastructure cybersecurity programs.
- Working knowledge of NERC CIP, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and applicable OT cybersecurity standards and regulations.
- Experience with cybersecurity monitoring platforms, SIEM technologies, threat hunting, or cyber asset management tools.
- Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Preferred disciplines:
Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security. Other disciplines may be substituted as appropriate. - To be titled Engineering Technical Specialist, candidates must meet one of the following criteria: 4-year Engineering Technology degree or 4-year degree in Engineering (not ABET-accredited); or 4-year degree in Physics, Math, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Engineering or other technical discipline; or 4-year non-technical degree with post-graduate degree in Engineering Technology or Engineering (not ABET-accredited); or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
