The Chief Engineer oversees all maintenance operations and team members. The Chief Engineer is responsible for maintaining the overall physical condition of the hotel and requires a high level of specialized expertise in all areas of responsibility. The Chief Engineer ensures labor and quality standards are upheld and assists with establishing a positive work environment, delivering exceptional guest service, and administering policies and procedures established by the company and the hotel brand.

• Performs and assigns established preventative maintenance programs for equipment, guestrooms, meeting space, and all other areas of the hotel.
• Performs repairs of minor mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and building‑related components.
• Oversees maintenance department with efforts relating to training, scheduling, and counseling.
• Coordinates and manages all maintenance projects and outside contractors including gathering proposals, making recommendations, creating timelines, and resolving issues.
• Provides training and coaching to direct reports.
• Maintains pool areas according to company and brand standards in addition to applicable state and local codes.
• Maintains external property appearance including lawn, landscaping and parking lot.
• Monitors and oversees department budget including payroll and product inventories.
• Ensures compliance with all required health, safety and security standards and procedures.
• Monitors and oversees inventory of equipment, tools and supplies.
• Maintains basic knowledge of fire safety equipment, refrigeration, pool and elevator operation.
• Maintains operational knowledge of common power and hand tools.
• Assists team members and other departments as needed to contribute to operational efficiency.
• Processes purchase orders and invoices for payment.
• Performs additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification or ability to obtain.
