About the PositionLocum Jobs Online is working with Wellhart, LLC to find a qualified Urgent Care NP in Glen Allen, Virginia, 23060!
We are seeking an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a 90-day assignment in Virginia, commencing Nov 16, 2026. This role involves 8a-8p shifts, focusing on critical urgent care procedures such as laceration repair, foreign body removal, minor burn management, orthopedic stabilization, and comprehensive diagnostic and point-of-care testing. The ideal candidate will manage diverse cases, including EKG evaluation, lab interpretation, and initial emergency airway support.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform laceration repair, including simple, intermediate, and complex suturing or stapling.
- Conduct incision and drainage (I&D), including packing.
- Execute foreign body removal.
- Manage minor burns.
- Provide skin lesion care.
- Oversee orthopedic and injury stabilization, including splinting and casting.
- Perform joint reductions.
- Utilize diagnostic and point-of-care testing.
- Interpret X-rays.
- Evaluate Electrocardiograms (EKG).
- Interpret point-of-care labs, including rapid strep, flu, COVID-19, RSV, urinalysis, and blood glucose testing.
- Manage epistaxis, including anterior nasal packing or chemical cautery (silver nitrate) for nosebleeds.
- Perform cerumen impaction removal.
- Provide airway support, including administration of nebulizer treatments and initial emergency stabilization.
