Multi‑Trade

Building Technician focused on customer support What is your day to day?
  • Oversees operation and performs repairs, installation, and preventative maintenance on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) infrastructure.
  • Inspects and ensures all drainage systems are free‑flowing and clear of blockages; snakes drains or clears obstructions, and inspects and repairs restrooms and associated fixtures.
  • Inspects and ensures all compressed‑air systems are operational and error‑free, responds to emergencies, and schedules preventive maintenance.
  • Oversees all dock and loading equipment systems; responds to malfunctions and schedules vendors as needed.
  • Works with the client to schedule equipment downtime so preventive maintenance can be performed with minimal impact to end users.
  • Analyzes operation of various systems, determines the cause of problems or malfunctions, and takes corrective action as required.
  • Proficient in smartphone and basic computer application software, including CMMS (Corrigo a plus).
  • Reviews logs to ensure proper operation of equipment and reports any problems or malfunctions on an as‑needed basis.
  • Prioritizes all preventive maintenance, corrective, and emergency work orders for the site (annual, quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily).
  • May participate in an on‑call rotation; must arrive on site within two hours for emergency service response.
  • Provides excellent customer service by using professional and effective communication with timely follow‑through.
  • Is a team player, self‑starter, possesses good interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum three years of related experience and/or training in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications such as MS Office, Outlook, CMMS (Maximo or Corrigo), etc.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Availability for call‑in work and for performing other duties as required.
Physical requirements and work conditions
  • Lifting up to 80 lbs.
  • Frequently climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and working/extending overhead.
  • Working in adverse conditions (e.g., extreme cold or extreme heat).
  • Working from heights; climbing a ladder up to 30 ft., with a 300‑lb. weight limit while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs.
  • Working from elevated heights.
Preferred
  • EPA Universal License.
  • BAS experience.
  • Preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment.
  • Low and Medium Voltage Electrical experience.
  • Understanding of NFPA and OSHA rules and requirements.

Estimated compensation for this position: 45,700.00 – 66,300.00 USD per year

Location: On‑site – Ashland, VA, Glen Allen, VA, Richmond, VA
