Harris Mechanical offers project work for system replacements or additions for both HVAC and plumbing.
Job SummaryThe HVAC Commercial Service Technician will install, repair, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
Duties/Responsibilities- Inspects new and existing HVAC units in commercial or industrial buildings.
- Inspects ductwork and thermostats to control HVAC system.
- Performs routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure they operate properly.
- Inspects and troubleshoots problems with existing HVAC units.
- Services replacement parts on existing HVAC units.
- Maintains inventory of replacement parts and orders replacements.
- Complies with company and industry safety standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates safe and ethical behavior in a professional manner.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent communication skills, as required to interact with customers.
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment.
- Ability to use power and hand tools, thermometers, pressure gauges, and other testing devices to evaluate HVAC system.
- Ability to read operation and repair manuals for HVAC systems.
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge and skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational/technical school training or apprenticeship required.
- Five years of related experience required.
- Experience with centrifugal chillers is a plus.
- Physically able to work on HVAC units.
- Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on time of year.
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling or climbing ladders.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Sign-On Bonus
