Cost Accountant, Financial Reporting, Financial Analyst, Accounting Manager
Cost Accountant to support the organization's financial operations through accurate cost analysis, inventory accounting, and manufacturing cost reporting. The Cost Accountant will partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to analyze product costs, monitor inventory, identify variances, and support budgeting and financial reporting. This role plays a critical part in controlling costs, improving profitability, and ensuring accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities Cost Accounting & Analysis- Maintain and analyze standard costs, product costs, and inventory valuations.
- Prepare and review cost reports, margin analyses, and profitability reporting.
- Analyze manufacturing variances including labor, material, overhead, and purchase price variances.
- Monitor cost trends and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and cost control.
- Assist with annual standard cost updates and cost roll-forward processes.
- Reconcile inventory balances and investigate discrepancies.
- Support physical inventory counts and cycle count programs.
- Analyze inventory transactions, adjustments, and obsolete inventory reserves.
- Ensure inventory is properly valued in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Prepare journal entries related to inventory, cost of goods sold, and manufacturing activity.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
- Reconcile inventory and related balance sheet accounts.
- Support financial statement preparation and management reporting.
- Develop and maintain accurate documentation of costing processes and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, reporting accuracy, and operational processes.
- Partner with operations and supply chain teams to strengthen cost tracking and inventory controls.
- Support ERP system enhancements, testing, and implementation projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in cost accounting, inventory accounting, or manufacturing accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
