Recruitment:
The State Highway Administration is currently recruiting for a Shop Administrative Technician II position located in District 5 Glen Burnie Shop (Anne Arundel County). This is an Interview and Hire position that is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below. This job announcement may be used for future vacancies throughout the State of Maryland. Nature of Work:
The main purpose of this position is to pick up, receive and deliver parts and supplies and take physical inventory of supplies, materials and equipment on hand. This position enters and retrieves data by computer and prepares, receives, approves and processes requisitions, invoices and purchase orders for stock replacement, equipment repair and replacement via computer entry. This position is a MD corporate Credit Card holder and must maintain records of usage and reconciliation.
This position inspects received items for quality, damage and ensures they are issued to the proper individuals. This position also stocks all supplies and materials for maintenance shop, personnel and contacts vendors with any issues.

Education:
Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience:
One (1) year of experience performing administrative support work and/or receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials and equipment in a storeroom, warehouse or other supply storage facility. May require the ability to type accurately at a speed of not less than twenty words per minute.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to operate computerized systems such as FMIS, Maximo, EORS, CCMS
- Ability to receive parts and supplies, take physical inventory of supplies, materials and equipment, enter and retrieve data via personal computer
Possession of a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland is required.
Employee must pass SHA Level I Small Procurement Training Certification during the six-month probationary period.
Special Requirements:
- This is an essential position, and employees must be available for 24-hour hour emergency call back with response time of less than one hour.
- Employees will be required to maintain reliable communication for the purpose of emergency call back requirements.
- Employees must pass SHA Level I Small Procurement Training Certification during the six-month probationary period.
- The probationary period will be six months with an extension possibility to one year due to the seasonal nature of job duties.
