Main Purpose of JobIncumbent in this position performs as a senior level manager responsible for providing professional, administrative and supervisory staff work in managing the daily operations of the Establishment Unit/Legal Unit of the Programs Division for the Montgomery County Office of Child Support. The individual’s work will be reviewed by the Deputy Director for accomplishment of unit goals and improvement in operational efficiency and effectiveness.
The individual in this position receives instructions from and reports to the Deputy Director.
- Plans, directs, organizes, leads and coordinates the administration of Child Support programs; locating customers, establishing paternity and support orders, modifying and enforcing child support orders.
- Communicates effectively with child support advisors, State agencies, Sheriff’s department, Masters, Judges, committees, work groups and other child support agencies to ensure optimum service to our customers.
- Oversees the daily operations of the Agency in the absence of the Director and Deputy Director.
- Identifies problematic areas and makes recommendations for improvement to the Deputy Director/Director.

Experience:
Eight years of experience, four years of experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations and an additional four years of professional or technical experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations.
- Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and four years of experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations for the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute graduate level education at an accredited college or university in a human services related field at the rate of 30 credit hours per year for up to six years of the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military experience as a commissioned officer in Administrative Officer classifications or Administrative Officer specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical and Office Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of supervisory experience.
- One year of experience navigating child support software/ databases Child Support Management System (CSMS).
- One year of experience analyzing workflows, and performance reports, and drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
