Pre-Construction Manager

We are seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to lead estimating, procurement, project buyout, and pre-construction activities for large-scale industrial and institutional mechanical construction projects
. This role is ideal for a seasoned construction professional with a strong background in mechanical process piping, advanced plumbing systems, and hard-bid estimating.

• Lead pre-construction planning, estimating, procurement, and project buyout activities.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates from schematic and design documents.
• Develop comparative estimates for multiple design options.
• Write, review, and manage detailed scopes of work.
• Coordinate procurement of mechanical and plumbing materials and equipment.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and bid documents.
• Support project teams throughout the pre-construction process.
• Manage and mentor estimating and pre-construction personnel.
• Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project requirements.
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.

• 10–15 years of experience in heavy industrial and institutional construction
  .
• Strong background in mechanical process piping and advanced plumbing systems
  .
• Proven leadership experience managing teams.
• Previous experience in project management and/or estimating.
  
  Extensive experience with project buyout for mechanical and plumbing materials and equipment.
• Strong scope writing and review skills.
• Experience estimating projects valued at $10 million or more
  .
• Demonstrated success in a hard-bid estimating environment.
• Ability to prepare accurate estimates from schematic design documents.
• Experience developing comparative estimates for various design alternatives.
• HVAC ductwork estimating experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and work independently.
