Job Summary
Assists the vocational coordinator in the management of the Community Vocational Program. Under the direction of the vocational coordinator, the technician will procure individual employment sites relative to students' interests and abilities, develop and coordinate the delivery of employment training, provide instructional support for the job coaches, monitor students' employment programs, and serve as a liaison between students, parents, schools, and employers.
Responsibilities- Consults with students, parents and schools regarding students’ employment interests.
- Conducts job searches.
- Schedules student interviews.
- Assists students’ with job applications and interview preparation.
- Evaluates and coordinates students’ employment needs.
- Assist job coaches with employment plans and fade out schedules.
- Assists in the development of natural supports within the work site.
- Consults with the vocational coordinator on students’ progress.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Education- Associate's Degree in related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.
- Three (3) years successful job coaching experience required.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently on assignments and meet deadlines.
- Ability to exercise initiative and good judgment in the timely execution of assigned responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred).
Employee must retain active licenses, certifications, and enrollment as a condition of employment.
