Pre-Kindergarten Teacher

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students.
• Supervise students in various school-related settings.
• Monitor and evaluate student outcomes.
• Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community.
• Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet all students' needs.
• Provide an environment conducive to intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of children.
• Maintain and improve professional competence.
• Keep appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices.
• Monitor proper use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintain regular, on-time attendance.
• Serve on special committees.
• Perform other duties as prescribed by Maryland State Law, Board of Education policy, Negotiated Agreement, and Building Principal.
• Foster academic growth and nurture young children.

• Bachelor’s degree and licensure as established by the Maryland State Department of Education.
• Other experience as established by Maryland Law and Board of Education policy.
• Knowledge of subject matter and appropriate instructional methodologies.
• Exemplary human relation skills.
• Exemplary organizational and planning skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.

• 10-month employment term.
• Exempt status.
• Salary Scale: EACC, U1 (details available on the Charles County Public Schools salary scales page).

• Ability to visit other locations with ordinary ambulatory skills.
• Capability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate light to medium weights (10-50 pounds).
• Good hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and visual acuity for keyboard use.
• Frequent sitting, reaching, talking, and hearing required.
