As a Marine Mechanical Auxiliary Engineer
, you will
- Work within the Maritime Lifecycle Readiness Division to provide engineering support to the United States Coast Guard - Surface Forces Logistics Center.

- Assist in design, development, and evaluation of the operation of marine systems, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as auxiliary systems, HVAC&R, piping systems.
- Support the US Coast Guard reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components.
- Perform design reviews, evaluating constructability, helping resolve technical issues, and managing information generated through the design and construction phases.
- Conduct analyses of various auxiliary systems, lead development of technical data packages and reviews.
- Conduct trade studies regarding auxiliary system configuration.
- Conduct mechanical engineering analysis.
- Create graphical representations of structures and systems.
- Inspect auxiliary equipment or systems.
- Assist in research of advanced engineering designs or applications.
- Prepare technical reports for internal use.
- Design, develop and evaluate operation of marine vessels, shipboard auxiliary systems and piping review.
- Develop technical data packages.
- Provide oversight on development of machinery arrangements.
- Conduct and oversee trade studies.
- Lead engineers in development efforts.
- Coordinate with other functional areas to complete ship design.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of ABS, USN, and industry standards relating to shipboard auxiliary systems.
- Minimum of 6 years' documented experience with design, optimization, and integration of marine auxiliary and piping systems, ship machinery integration, cargo handling systems, and weight handling systems calculations and analyses.
- Progressively responsible experience in marine specific fields (i.e., auxiliary systems, piping systems, fluids and hydraulics).
- Experience with Auto-CAD.
- Familiarity with ABS, NVR, and commercial ship design rules and regulations.
- Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
