Position Summary

This position is responsible for supporting plant leadership in achieving business and financial goals by developing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes and leading the lean transformation across the organization. Additional responsibility includes executing the organization’s strategic plan consistent with federal, state, and local regulations, established industry standards, and customer requirements as well as tooling layout, design and implementation to production, support production team with process improvements and troubleshooting, work with product design on new product tooling and processes, factory layout, and continuous improvement activities (Kaizen events, use of Six Sigma tools, 5S etc.).

Essential Job Functions
  • Develop and maintain robust manufacturing processes and lead lean transformation across the organization.
  • Execute the organization’s strategic plan consistent with federal, state, and local regulations, established industry standards, and customer requirements, and manage tooling layout, design and implementation to production.
  • Support production team with process improvements and troubleshooting; work with product design on new product tooling and processes, factory layout, and continuous improvement activities (Kaizen events, Six Sigma tools, 5S, etc.).
  • Lead continuous improvement and lean implementation to eliminate waste, reduce process variations and deliver products to customer expectations. Facilitate Kaizen events including Value Stream Mapping, process improvements, and strategic initiatives in collaboration with the High Performance Work Teams (HPWT).
  • Identify and resolve opportunities, gather and analyze information, and develop and implement action plans to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Develop and maintain cost‑efficient manufacturing processes and product structures consistent with lean practices; understand shop capacity planning related to equipment, processes, and manning.
  • Be mindful of process and test capabilities and recognize organizational core competencies.
  • Determine root cause and corrective actions to resolve issues involving discrepant products or material.
  • Manage projects and conduct project reviews as needed to ensure successful and timely completion within budget.
  • Communicate changes and progress status.
  • Implement methods to reduce variation; demonstrate ability to understand sources of variation and identify impact of tolerance stacks in assemblies.
ITAR Requirements

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; minimum of four (4) years of experience in CNC machining.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Experience with manufacturing or process design of machined and fabricated components from raw material.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Experience with CAD and CAM software.
  • Access to export‑controlled information; applicant must be a U.S. person (citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment implementing Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in CNC programming for milling and turning.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of project management experience.
