We're seeking a Project Development Engineer to develop and implement energy savings and resiliency/efficiency technology projects in commercial, institutional, and industrial settings. You'll conduct site assessments and energy analyses, lead engineering design activities, and partner with clients throughout project development, construction, commissioning, and operations phases.
In this role, you'll conduct site assessments and analyze existing mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems while documenting energy performance data, utility consumption, and facility infrastructure. You'll identify energy conservation opportunities, prepare detailed energy savings calculations, and perform comprehensive engineering assessments including baseline profiles and retrofit analysis. You'll lead engineering design and development activities supporting construction, operations, and maintenance of customer projects under energy savings contracts, and prepare conceptual and detailed engineering designs, bid documents, cost estimates, technical drawings, and specifications for energy efficient systems.
You'll coordinate with vendors and installation contractors to verify feasibility and pricing of proposed modifications, provide ongoing engineering guidance through all project phases, and complete energy efficiency and resiliency audits while ensuring design compliance with industry and jurisdictional safety standards and codes
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical engineering fiel
- Minimum 5 years of professional Project Engineer experience, preferably in energy efficiency or renewable technolog
- Proven ability to analyze and quantify energy savings and implement projects involving chiller/boiler plants, motors, VFDs, HVAC retrofits, controls, and distributed generatio
- Valid driver's license in good standing
- Excellent verbal, written, and technical communication skills with strong attention to detai
- Ability to travel to project sites and meet project deadlines while managing multiple work stream
- Strong understanding of commercial building systems and energy efficiency concept
- Experience with whole building energy simulation software such as eQue
- Professional registration or progress toward PE, CEM, or LEED certification. Knowledge of U.S. commercial and Government standards and codes (DoD UFC/UFGS, NEC, OSHA, NFPA, ASHRAE, NIST, RM
