Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services Division is hiring a Business Development Cost Estimator to support a rapidly growing portfolio of programs across the U.S. The position is responsible for developing, analyzing, and supporting cost estimates in proposals to our government and industry customers that are timely, compliant, and of the highest quality, utilizing various cost estimating techniques. The individual will support bid strategy and play a role in strategic proposal decisions for major and minor proposals supporting the Division and Corporate pursuits.
The Cost Estimator will support business case assessments, customer negotiations, rate structure development, risk and opportunity management, supplier price analysis, proposal audits, and other activities pursuant to winning and executing. The individual will conduct market research, analyze historical data, and develop cost estimating models and factors to evaluate price reasonableness and develop negotiation positions. The Cost Estimator will interface with all elements of the business organization to perform duties and will interact with external customers and stakeholders as required.
Meticulous records will be kept in support of future activities.

Required Experience:Qualifications:
- Ability to perform and apply cost accounting, pricing, and estimating concepts and principles
- Ability to meet deadlines in a challenging, multi-tasking environment while managing multiple proposals with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Prior knowledge of FAR, DFARS, estimating guidelines and best practices, and labor/overhead rate structures
- Established capability of working with pricing/estimating software (e.g. Deltek Pro Pricer) as well as advanced Microsoft Excel concepts
- Drive for continuous improvement in personal skills and business processes
- Strong cross functional collaboration skills
- Strong, clear communication skills to influence decision making and stakeholder buy-in
- Established strategic and analytic abilities to problem solve and develop creative solutions to proposal capture opportunities
- DoD secret clearance or ability to obtain one
- Bachelor is degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or STEM discipline with 2 years experience in proposals, cost estimating, contracts, and/or pricing. Years of experience can be substituted for an advanced degree or significant outside achievements demonstrating financial acumen and drive.
