Target Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000

Position OverviewAmatriot is seeking a Network Administrator to provide expertise to a federal client in support of mission‑critical systems in defense of the Homeland. The Network Administrator is responsible for implementing and maintaining the organization’s network infrastructure, overseeing network administration, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring the performance, availability, and security of network systems.
Key Responsibilities- Network Administration and Maintenance: Configure and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN concentrators.
- Network Management: Manage, monitor, maintain, and secure networks and tenant segments. Document and manage IP addresses, and organize, document, and manage delivery of network load‑balancing services.
- Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues using firewall logs and switch packet‑capture tools. Engage with cross‑functional teams for support.
- Capacity Planning and Integration: Conduct capacity planning and bandwidth management for future growth. Collaborate with other teams to integrate network infrastructure with cloud services, storage systems, and other IT components.
- Documentation and Technical Guidance: Create and maintain documentation such as configurations, diagrams, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior network engineers. Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices and recommend adoption.
- 7+ years of experience in a Network Administrator role or related field.
- 5+ years of experience with network device configuration and monitoring.
- 5+ years of experience with firewall configuration (Palo Alto, Juniper, or similar technologies).
- 5+ years of experience with network monitoring tools (Solar Winds, Net Cool, or similar tools).
- Active DoD Secret clearance is required.
- Only U.S. citizens are eligible; dual citizenship is not accepted.
- Willing and able to meet recall requirements, including participation in a rotational on‑call schedule to support 24×7×365 uptime.
