Cyber IT Specialist, 2nd Shift

Role Overview

Peraton is looking for a Cyber IT Specialist, 2nd Shift to become part of our Federal Strategic Cyber Group. The role is responsible for ensuring seamless operations and continuity, monitoring personnel activity and alerts, and performing initial triage and troubleshooting of incidents and service requests.

• Monitor Splunk dashboards, Solar Winds, and other enterprise tools, and promptly notify the Shift Lead of identified issues.
• Create, update, and audit Service Now tickets to ensure accurate tracking, documentation, and resolution.
• Perform initial triage, troubleshooting, and resolution of incidents and service requests to restore normal operations.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience in IT operations, network operations, or a cybersecurity support role. They must possess and maintain a professional certification such as CASP+ CE, CCNA‑Security, or CISSP (or Associate).

• Professional certification such as CASP+ CE, CCNA‑Security, or CISSP (or Associate)
• Experience with Service Now or similar ITSM tools for incident and request management
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Solar Winds, or similar platforms
• Understanding of incident response processes, including severity classification and escalation procedures
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Demonstrated strong communication skills
• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to obtain an interim Secret security clearance before start date
• Ability to obtain a final Top Secret security clearance

• Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000
