Systems Administrator
The Systems Administrator shall be responsible for providing network management and systems administration support to maintain the Agency’s High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure and HPC development environment.
Requirements- 15+ years of related experience
- Education:
Technical training, certification(s) or degree - Security+ certification
- SYS1 access required
- US Citizenship required
- Top Secret SCI + Polygraph clearance (must currently possess or be able to obtain)
- Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux tools
- Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
- Experience performing system administration: installation, configuration, and support of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software in a large-scale Linux cluster environment
- Experience with Network Appliance clustered servers and applicable software with directly attached FC SAN storage
- Experience using Red Hat Satellite to automate deployment, provisioning, and patching of REL Linux systems across physical, virtual, and cloud environments
- Hands‑on troubleshooting, customer interfacing, issue resolution, discrepancy tracking, and report generation
- Familiarity with software frameworks used for searching, monitoring, and analyzing big data such as Splunk and Elastic Stack
- Linux configuration: storage, networking, load balancing, memory management, VMs, firewalls, and system monitoring
- Corporate STE/STN security compliance policies, procedures, and tools
- Corporate SSP accreditation processes
- Infrastructure as Code principles and automation tools such as Ansible and Salt Stack
- VMware ESXi/virtualization environments configuration and sustainment
- Experience with the Atlassian suite of tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Experience using system monitoring tools such as HPE One View and Nagios
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
- Experience with sanitization of hardware, firmware, and/or software removed from computing environments in accordance with USG policies and procedures
- Experience with Net Backup and/or tape backup systems and archiving
- Experience with ePolicy Orchestrator and Mc Afee
- Salary range: $202,300 - $273,700
- Scheduled weekly hours: 40
