Main Purpose of JobThe IT Technical Support Specialist provides technical assistance and operational support for the Department of Social and Economic Mobility's technology systems, applications, and users. This position plays a critical role in supporting workforce development, grant administration, case management, and community service programs by ensuring system functionality, data integrity, and compliance with program requirements. The specialist supports the B2G platform and related technologies, assists users with technical issues, and helps maintain accurate and reliable system data.
POSITIONDUTIES
- Provide first- and second-level technical support for department staff, program users, and stakeholders.
- Support the daily operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the B2G platform and related applications.
- Monitor system performance and identify, document, and elevate technical issues as needed.
- Compile ad hoc reports and assist with data analysis to support program operations and management decisions.
- Perform database maintenance
, including data entry validation, data cleansing, and record updates to ensure accuracy and integrity. - Conduct quality assurance reviews of application data and system processes to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain user accounts
, permissions, and access controls in accordance with security policies. - Document technical issues, resolutions, and support procedures within the department's ticketing and knowledge management systems.
Experience:
Five years of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining applications systems and programs using generally accepted computer programming languages or maintaining and modifying operating systems for computers.
- Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or other information technology-related field to include course work in systems analysis and applications programming using generally accepted computer programming languages for four years of the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and one year of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining applications systems and programs using generally accepted computer programming languages or maintaining and modifying operating systems for four years of the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute experience operating computer systems; or scheduling, controlling input and output or maintaining a tape library to process data on computer systems; or evaluating, implementing and maintaining microcomputer hardware and software; or converting data from project specifications by developing program code using generally accepted computer programming languages on a year-for-year basis for a high school education.
