We're looking for an experienced EHS Manager to join our team and support our growing company.

What you’ll get to do:
  • Apply your knowledge and understanding of environmental, health and safety (EHS) regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate, direct and monitor all site-specific EHS compliance programs, issues and results.
  • Assist our site managers in developing, monitoring and instituting programs and procedures to ensure environmentally compliant, safe and legal operation and maintenance of facilities; help them identify root causes and recommended mitigations for all safety-related incidents.
  • Coordinate with global Head of Health and Safety to ensure alignment with Blue Phoenix Group training, reporting, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting and recordkeeping.
  • Coordinate Industrial Hygiene and Medical Surveillance Programs, including exposure sampling and annual health screenings. Serve as point of contact for air and noise sampling, update compliance programs based on data, and communicate results to staff.
  • Serve as liaison between human resources and site managers for any random drug and reasonable suspicion training and testing.
  • Plan and evaluate emergencies and confined space drills; coordinate with the emergency services to walk the facility and to participate in drills annually.
  • Participate in site meetings to evaluate management commitment, function and effectiveness. Provide input on EHS-related matters and continuous improvement projects and share best practices. Periodically meet with site managers to discuss EHS issues, requests for information, OSHA interpretations, AFE/change management input, etc.
  • Identify recurring or potential issues, determine their underlying causes, and implement effective solutions as appropriate.
  • Post OSHA 300 logs annually and complete all entries in the company’s Incident Management System within 7 days after the employee has returned to work.
  • Spend balanced time at all Blue Phoenix project sites, traveling between sites as necessary.
What you need to have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, engineering, science or other related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with safety compliance programs, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge, experience and understanding of environmental, occupational health and safety requirements to implement related policies and procedures; PE, CIH and CSP certifications preferred
  • Experience working with local, state and federal regulatory agencies; involvement in negotiations preferred
  • Licenses as required by local, state, federal, environmental and/or health/safety regulatory agencies
  • Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Word and Excel; EHS information systems; and agency reporting software
  • Strong work ethic and sound judgment
  • Outstanding communications and organizational skills
  • Ability to influence and mentor others
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage stress, work autonomously and accept constructive feedback
  • Ability to work effectively in adverse environmental conditions, including wet or humid conditions, airborne particles, potential exposure to dust, and chemicals, varied temperatures and outdoor weather conditions, and noise in the work environment
