About the Role
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and expanding market presence within a designated geographic region meeting all monthly, quarterly and annual sales, GP dollars and GM% goals for each product category. This role involves developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies that align with company objectives to maximize revenue and market share. The manager will oversee a sales team, ensuring effective territory management and optimal sales volume achievement.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders is essential to foster long-term partnerships and secure business opportunities. Ultimately, the Regional Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in achieving regional sales targets.
The territory for this role is VA, WV, MD and DC
Responsibilities- Manage a territory sales team and implement the company’s sales strategy to drive revenue growth
- Provide training and support to the sales team ensuring they have the necessary tools to succeed in their roles
- Spearhead sales and marketing initiatives to include new product introductions, marketing programs, pricing strategies, promotions, merchandising placements, slow moving inventory sales, etc. for each product category
- Provide leadership and conduct regular staff meetings, identify long-term and short-term goals and provide guidance to help reach those goals.
- Use data to measure and monitor sales performance continually making suggestions to enhance performance.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with accounts and key clients to drive business growth.
- Analyze sales data and market trends to adjust sales strategies and improve sales volume.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of sales initiatives with marketing, product development, and customer service.
- Develop annual sales and gross margin territory budget and maintain expenditure within a defined expense budget. Track and report monthly and quarterly expenses.
- Provide inventory guidance information to Marketing, Operations, and Purchasing to help manage proper stock levels of products, displays, and samples. Communicate significant changes that may impact inventory levels and work closely with your team to provide realistic sales forecasts
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field strongly preferred
- Proven experience in regional sales management, preferably within a flooring distributor sales environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute sales plans that meet or exceed targets.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills to maintain and grow key customer partnerships
- Experience with CRM software and sales analytics tools
- Proven track record of increasing sales volume in competitive markets.
- Proficiency in analyzing sales data and market trends to support informed decision-making and agile adjustments to sales strategies.
- Significant travel is required. Frequent evening work with some weekends.
