Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

- Hourly Pay: $25.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus:
Ryder pays you up to $500 Every Quarter – Four Times Per Year - Schedule:
Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF - Hours:
First Shift 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification, Post‑Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gasoline or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, brake and tire work
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in the required field, preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
- This position requires you to drive Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee you must:
- Be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance
- Perform standard component inspections and repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
- Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of the complaint once assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including but not limited to Service Island support
